Similar to doorknobs, almost everyone in the office is touching the buttons in the elevator. From the deliverymen to the CEO, there’s not one person who’s not susceptible to contracting germs from elevator buttons.

Make sure that they are cleaned regularly in order to prevent lingering germs from settling down and potential illnesses from spreading.

Kitchen Knobs, Cabinets, and Racks

The kitchen is often the second most-used space, after the washroom. While most offices are highly concerned about cleaning the washroom at least twice a day, they usually don’t pay attention to cleanliness in the kitchen.

Kitchen knobs, cabinets and racks invite the most bacteria, though, because of the food that is constantly in the space during lunchtime, and even after it.

The refrigerators and microwaves—the two most important components of an office kitchen—are not properly cleaned and wiped more often than not. This gives enough space to bacteria and germs to get into everybody’s food and potentially spread the flu and other illnesses.
